Contact and corrections
I read every message myself, usually on weekday mornings between other project work. You will get a reply, but please don’t expect it within a set number of hours — if a launch is swallowing my week, I might take a little longer. I answer genuine correction notes first, then general questions.
What I cannot help with
TrackTak is a checklist, not a help desk for every app listed. Please don’t ask me to:
- Recover licence keys, serials or lost accounts for third-party software
- Provide cracks, patches or workarounds for copy protection
- Troubleshoot an app on your Mac — I don’t have your setup, and the developer is always the best first stop
- Change a program’s listing because you sell it or represent it; corrections based on public facts are fine, but I don’t accept promotional rewrites
If your question is about a specific app, contact its developer. I list the official site on every program page, usually near the version number.
Reporting a broken link or wrong version
These notes help the site stay current. If a download link returns a 404, or the version number on a page no longer matches the developer’s latest public release, tell me at [email protected].
To make the fix quick, include:
- The program name exactly as it appears on TrackTak
- The URL of the page you were on
- What’s wrong: “version listed is 2.1.0, current stable is 2.2.1” or “Download button leads to a 404 page”
- If reporting a version change, a link to the developer’s release notes or download page so I can confirm it independently
I check every report against the developer’s own site. If the change checks out, I update the listing and mark the program as updated so logged-in users who saved it see the notification on the site.
Older builds and compatibility notes
When a developer removes an old version from their site, I try to keep the previous build listed on the program page for anyone on an older Mac. If you notice a compatibility note that looks wrong — for example, “macOS 12+” when the current version actually requires macOS 13 — let me know with the same details above. I test what I can, but I rely on careful readers for a lot of these catches.
Copyright concerns
TrackTak lists information about software, not the software itself. If you hold rights to a program and believe a listing needs attention, please use the DMCA page. That route makes sure the right details reach me in a structured way, and it keeps legal matters out of a crowded inbox. The link is in the site footer.
Typos, dead links in text, other small fixes
If you spot a spelling mistake, a broken internal link, or a formatting glitch, a short note with the page URL and what you saw is enough. No need for a long explanation — I will find it and sort the fix.
