Copyright notices (DMCA)

TrackTak lists software we’ve checked. We don’t host apps, plugins or game files — every listing links to the developer’s own site. We act on clear copyright notices when someone’s work has been misattributed, copied into a listing without permission, or linked in a way that encourages infringement.

Sending a notice

Send your notice to [email protected]. To avoid delays, include these six things:

  1. The page address (URL) on tracktak.com that you believe infringes your copyright. One URL per notice works best; if you’re flagging several, list each one separately.
  2. The work you own. Identify it clearly — title, version, a link to the official page, or a registration number if you have one.
  3. Proof of ownership or authority. Something that connects you to the work: a business email from the rights holder’s domain, a scan of a registration certificate, or a signed letter of authorisation if you’re acting for someone else.
  4. Your contact details. Name, email address, and a postal address or phone number so we can reach you if we need to.
  5. A good-faith statement — a sentence confirming you believe use of the material isn’t authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
  6. A signature. A physical or electronic signature from the rights holder or someone authorised to act on their behalf.

We can’t process vague or bulk requests that name nothing specific. If your message says “all the Adobe listings” or “everything in Audio” without individual URLs, we’ll ask you to narrow it down. The same goes for copy-paste notices sent to dozens of sites at once — if it’s clear you haven’t actually looked at the listing, we treat it as low priority.

What happens next

Once we receive a valid notice, we’ll:

  • Acknowledge it — you’ll get a brief reply so you know it’s in our queue.
  • Check the listing against what you’ve sent. That means comparing the description, screenshots, links and any text we’ve written with the work you say is yours.
  • Remove or edit the material if your notice checks out. We’ll confirm what we’ve done by email.

If a listing contains a screenshot or icon you own and the rest of the listing is fine, we may simply swap the image rather than take the whole page down. We keep a dated record of every notice and every action we take.

Repeat problems. If someone submits repeated notices that turn out to be wrong, or sends the same invalid notice several times, we stop responding until they provide what’s missing. Deliberately false notices — where someone claims ownership of something they know isn’t theirs — will be filed and reported if necessary.

Counter-notice

If we remove a listing or an image based on a copyright notice and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address: [email protected].

Your counter-notice needs to include:

  • The page or image we removed, and where it appeared.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and phone number.
  • Your consent to the jurisdiction of your local federal or high court (if the original notice came from outside the UK, you still agree to this).
  • A physical or electronic signature.

When we receive a valid counter-notice, we’ll forward a copy to the person who filed the original notice. If they don’t provide evidence that they’ve started court proceedings within a reasonable window, we’ll restore the material.

We don’t act as referee — we follow the notice-and-counter-notice process as it’s written, and we keep both sides informed at each step.

Send a copyright notice

Only for copyright notices about a page on tracktak.com. Anything else goes to the contact page.
