Paradox fans who already run grand campaigns on macOS will find this build familiar ground.

Grand strategy — directing a whole nation's industry, research and armies through World War II.
Alt-history engine — the game lets you change the war's outcome, not just replay it.
Nation picker — lead any country that existed in the period, from major powers to minors.
Paradox layer cake — expect deep menus, nested tooltips and a pause-heavy rhythm. A trackpad works, but a mouse feels better on long sessions.

Running a Minor Nation: Brazil, 1938

You pick Brazil in 1938. No major power. No front-row seat to the war.

First year: trade for steel, build civilian factories, ignore the army. Your neighbour Argentina drifts right. Venezuela wobbles. The USA sends vague guarantees you do not trust.

By 1941 you own South America's only heavy tank division. Small. Slow. But enough to roll through Uruguay before anyone reacts. The Allies protest. You ignore the protest. Your checklist becomes a timeline of small invasions, timed between US election cycles and lend-lease shipments. The war ends. Brazil holds half the continent. Nobody saw it coming. That is the power of a minor-nation run — no script, just choices.

Build tank divisions that actually move

  • Ignoring supply. New players build tank divisions and shove them into low-infrastructure provinces. The divisions starve. The push fails. Always check the supply map before a major offensive.
  • Training too early. Deploying divisions before they are fully trained wastes equipment and manpower. Green troops break faster than you think.
  • Forgetting air superiority. Ground attacks without green-air coverage get shredded. Close air support wins battles; ignoring it loses them.
  • Research sprawl. Trying to research everything at once leaves you behind across the board. Pick two to three doctrines and stick with them.
  • Naval invasion neglect. Players often forget to assign naval supremacy before launching an invasion. The plan sits idle for months while ships sit in port.

One-click production queue sorting

  • Shift-click the production priority buttons. You can move an item to the top or bottom of the queue in one click instead of dragging.
  • Right-click an alert to dismiss it permanently. The notification sidebar gets noisy. This keeps it clean without hunting through settings.
  • Army templates save lives. Build a template once, duplicate it, tweak a single variant. No need to re-click every battalion slot for every new division.
  • Ctrl-plus and Ctrl-minus on the map. Tighter zoom control than the scroll wheel, especially on a trackpad where pinch-zoom overshoots.
  • The logistics tab filter. Use the equipment stockpile view to spot shortages before they cripple a front line. A two-minute check saves a two-hour collapse.

The game rewards methodical players. A war lost is usually a war planned wrong six months earlier. Keep a short checklist: supply lines, air zones, template readiness. Run it before every offensive. You will lose fewer divisions and finish campaigns faster.

Questions the team asks

The interface supports Russian, English, German, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, French and Japanese.

The build is Intel-native. It was tested on a Mac mini 2024 M4 running macOS Tahoe, so Rosetta 2 handles it on Apple Silicon.
