Side-scroll survival, shelter management, and crafting
Side-scrolling survival — move left and right through 2D environments, not free-roaming 3D.
Shelter management — keep a group of survivors fed, rested, and mentally stable while holed up in temporary safe houses.
Crafting — build weapons and tools from what you scavenge.
Stealth kills — take out zombies quietly to avoid attracting a horde.
Early Access — version 0.17.1, with full 1.0 release planned for March 2027.

Auto-pause scavenging before a horde finds you
Three options make an immediate difference in version 0.17.1.
- Auto-pause when scavenging. Turn this on. The default keeps time running while you search containers. A horde wanders in, and you lose a survivor before you can react.
- Morale notifications. Set to frequent. The game only warns you at critical levels by default. By then, someone is already planning to leave or sabotage supplies.
- Control hints. Switch to minimal after the first hour. The full tutorial overlay blocks sightlines during stealth sections. Minimal keeps the crosshair visible without clutter.
Noise punishes container hoarding
New players tend to treat this as a run-and-gun side-scroller. It punishes that hard.
Scavenging every container on a map is the most common error. Noise attracts zombies, and the longer you stay, the more gather. Take what the group needs and leave. A second trip is safer than a dead scavenger.
Ignoring morale for food and meds is another. Survivors with low morale refuse orders, hoard items, or walk out at night. A shared meal raises spirits more than hoarding rations does.
Crafting weapons before securing a second shelter exit often backfires. One blocked doorway means a wipe. Always check escape routes first, then build.
