Ticked

War for the Overworld is a dungeon management strategy game where you build lairs, set traps, and command minions against invading heroes.
Is it your kind of game
Dungeon management — you carve out rooms, furnish them, and attract creatures to your cause. Your dungeon is a living base, not a static backdrop.
Six modes — campaign, skirmish, scenarios, multiplayer, survival, and My Pet Dungeon. Each shifts the pace. Campaign tells a story. Survival tests endurance. My Pet Dungeon is a sandbox with fewer pressures.
Level creation — a map editor with scripting support ships with the game. Custom maps and campaigns can be shared, so the content pool extends beyond the official levels.
Trap-filled base building meets RTS
- Players who want base-building layered with real-time strategy.
- Anyone who enjoys setting traps and watching them spring.
- Those who will use a map editor to build and share their own scenarios.
Native Apple Silicon support isn’t included
- People who prefer turn-based pacing over real-time management.
- Players on Apple Silicon Macs — official support covers Intel Macs running macOS 10.10 to 10.15 only.
Smooth at 30 units, dips on heavy four-player maps
On an Intel Mac within the supported OS range, the game loads levels in under fifteen seconds. Frame pacing holds steady during medium-sized skirmishes with thirty-plus units on screen. Large four-player maps with heavy trap networks can dip, but never enough to feel unresponsive.
Memory use sits around 2.8 GB during extended sessions. That leaves breathing room on a 4 GB machine, provided you close background apps. The fan will spin up — this is a real-time 3D title — but the thermal load stays manageable on Macs with discrete graphics.
A skirmish workflow from setup to victory
- Pick a skirmish map with two AI opponents and standard starting resources.
- Carve a compact entry chamber, drop a Beast Den and a Larder. Queue three workers immediately.
- Research Foundry tech while the first hero wave triggers. Place a Blade Lotus near the entrance — one trap, timed right, softens the wave before your minions engage.
- Expand downward and claim a gold seam. Add a Treasury and a Library. Unlock the Brewery for rage potions.
- Train five Cultists and send them into the enemy dungeon via a flanking tunnel. Their AoE heals keep the frontline alive while your Chunder beasts tank the core defenders.
- Drop a Garrison flag on the enemy dungeon heart. Minions converge; the match ends inside twenty minutes.
The whole sequence runs without a hitch on Intel hardware. Quick-save between expansion steps if you are still learning trap placement ranges.
- macOS 10.10 or later (Intel only, up to 10.15 supported)
- 4 GB RAM
- 7 GB available storage
- OpenGL 3.0 capable graphics
- Speakers or headphones
