How does a battle play out moment to moment?

You direct troops with simple commands, then wade into the fight yourself. Directional swings and blocks depend on how you move the mouse. A thrown weapon doubles as a short spear if you get rushed before you can draw your sword.

What happens between battles in the single-player campaign?

You ride across Calradia recruiting villagers, trading goods, and chasing bandits. Eventually you swear allegiance to a faction, manage fiefs, and can even marry a noblewoman to strengthen your political position.

Matches support up to 200 players across deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, conquest, battle, and siege. Any loose arrow or throwing axe on the ground can be scooped up and used, so you rarely sit idle.

Set battle size to your Mac’s max for bigger fights

Open Options from the launcher before you start a campaign. A few tweaks make the game feel sharper on a modern display.

• Battle size. The default caps at 150. Bump it to the maximum if your Intel Mac handles it—larger skirmishes change how tactics play out when you download mount & blade warband for mac.
• Damage to player. Set to normal if you want the full risk of a stray crossbow bolt. Newcomers can leave it on 1/2 while learning directional blocking.

The launcher sometimes defaults to a small windowed mode. Tick Start Windowed off, then select your native resolution from the drop-down. If the list is blank, quit the launcher, reopen it, and click Configure before Play.

Troops routing too quickly

Morale collapses when you lose several men in quick succession without dealing damage back. Keep a mix of mid-tier infantry in your warband—peasants break almost instantly. Food variety also affects morale on the campaign map, so carry more than just grain.

Multiplayer server list is empty

Switch to the Internet tab, not LAN. If servers still do not appear, check that your Mac's firewall allows incoming connections for the game. A quick restart of the client usually refreshes the list.
