Farming Simulator 25 — Mac download
Ticked

Update 1.23.1.0 landed on 9 September 2026, bringing bug fixes and game improvements. Before you download, check the specs — this sim asks for a modern Mac and plenty of free space.
You need an Apple M1 chip or later, macOS 11.3, 8 GB RAM, and 45 GB of available storage. That rules out older Intel machines. If your Mac matches, you get a farm that reacts to your decisions. GPS-assisted steering keeps lines straight. Tyre tracks press into soft ground and stay there. Hurricanes and hail arrive without warning, and the landscape shifts with each weather event.
More than 400 machines from over 150 manufacturers fill the equipment shed. You can plant two types of rice, and the livestock roster includes water buffalo alongside new baby animals. Play alone or switch to cooperative multiplayer with a friend.
GPS and worker AI can run together
Some of the best features sit quietly in menus. Here are a few that save time once you find them.
- Worker AI and GPS overlap. You can switch on GPS-assisted steering and hire a worker at the same time. The worker handles speed and implement control while GPS keeps the line. Helpful on irregular fields where the AI sometimes wanders.
- Tab to the last vehicle. Tapping Tab cycles through nearby machines, but double-tapping it jumps straight to the vehicle you last drove. Cuts out the guesswork when you have five tractors parked near a silo.
- Vehicle radio. The in-cab radio is easy to miss. Press the keybind — default is R — and you get a few stations. Repetitive after a long session, but a nice touch during short hauling runs.
- Cruise control, not just GPS. GPS steering gets the attention, but old-fashioned cruise control (set with 3 and 4 on the number row) still helps when you just want a steady speed without lane-keeping.
- Quick camera presets. Pressing the number keys 1 through 9 while in a vehicle saves a custom camera angle. Tap the same number again to snap back to it. Useful when you keep returning to the same unloading spot.
Pure Farming 2018 vs. FS25 on Mac
Three other farming-focused titles come up often. Each scratches a different itch.
Pure Farming 2018. Lighter in scope, with a smaller equipment roster and a campaign that walks you through specific crops on four global farms. Its Mac version runs on older hardware, which counts for something. But the physics feel simpler, and weather events do not deform the ground the way Farming Simulator 25 does. If you want a guided tour rather than an open sandbox, it fits — but you lose the multi-stage production chains and ModHub support.
Stardew Valley. Pixel art, one farmer, heavy emphasis on relationships and village life. It is more farm life RPG than farm simulation. The machinery stops at a few sprinkler layouts. Nobody is comparing engine sounds or ground deformation here. If your group wants to manage a real-scale grain harvest cooperatively, Stardew is not the tool.
Cattle and Crops. A niche sim that focuses on detailed ground physics and realistic machine operation. Fewer crops, fewer manufacturers, and no forestry or East Asian map. The attention to soil behaviour is impressive, but the vehicle count and multiplayer support do not match what Giants ships out of the box.
Farming Simulator 25 sits in the middle: deeper than the lighter titles, broader than the hyper-specialised ones. The ModHub fills most gaps.
Skip the 600 hp tractor on day one
- Buying the biggest tractor first. Large tractors compact soil faster and guzzle fuel. Early-game fields do not need 600 hp. A mid-range model with a front loader attachment handles starter tasks and leaves budget for implements.
- Ignoring the production chain summary screen. The menu shows input and output per hour for every factory you own. New players often over-plant a crop and discover the processing building cannot keep up. Check those numbers before you expand the bakery or the grain mill.
- Skipping lime. After a few harvests, fields need lime to restore yield. The game reminds you once, quietly. It is easy to dismiss and then wonder why wheat output dropped by 15%.
- Leaving animals on 1x time. Animals age and produce at the game's speed setting. If you sit on 1x for a full real-time week, do not expect a barn full of calves. A short burst on 120x — once feed and water are stable — moves things along without breaking anything.
- Forgetting the ModHub filters. The in-game ModHub has a "Crossplay" toggle and a "Top Rated" sort. Beginners sometimes download mods without checking crossplay compatibility, then wonder why their multiplayer session desyncs.

Questions the team asks
No. The minimum requirement is an Apple M1 chip or later, so Intel-based Macs are not supported.
The game adds water buffalo and baby animals to the available livestock.
Yes. Weather events like hurricanes and hail can change the landscape, and ground deformation from tyres stays visible.
