The campaign walks you through escalating scenarios, each tied to a different leader with their own goals and constraints. Between campaign levels, the challenge mode gives you a fresh puzzle on a fortnightly rotation — same rules, new map, leaderboard consequences. Weather events and biome differences mean the same strategy won't always work. You'll adapt or restart.

Pathfinding and task queues no longer trap your settlers

Version 22 tightened a few things that used to cause restarts. Villager pathfinding handles tight builds better. Queued tasks no longer stall when a worker gets reassigned mid-job. The challenge-mode leaderboard refreshes without needing a full app restart — small change, but one you notice every two weeks.

Stability and feel on Mac

On Apple Silicon the frame pacing stays smooth through weather transitions and population spikes past 80 villagers. Intel Macs run it fine, though late-game Winterlands scenes with heavy snow overlays can dip briefly on older machines. Memory use sits around 1.2 GB — modest for the detail level.

Load times between campaign levels clock in under eight seconds on an M-series Mac, and the autosave system has yet to corrupt a save in my runs. The soundtrack streaming doesn't hitch when you switch spaces or pull up Mission Control, which isn't always a given with Unity-based games.
