Ticked

Build speed
You chain dashes, wall runs, and dives to keep momentum up. Most rooms let you tear through enemies once your combo is rolling, and holding top speed triggers a frantic cartoon dash that smashes through blockers.
Explore the floor
Each floor hides secret rooms behind breakable walls and tucked-away passages. Finding them adds to your final score, so you learn to check corners even while the timer pushes you forward.
Escape the level
After grabbing the pillar at the end, a countdown starts and you sprint back through the whole stage in reverse. The layout transforms, with new obstacles and shortcuts that test how well you learned the route the first time.
Borrowing Wario Land’s dash, then pushing past Celeste
Wario Land 4 is the obvious ancestor. Pizza Tower borrows the dash-and-barge rhythm and the escape-sequence structure, then pushes both to absurd speeds. Where Wario Land keeps things compact, Pizza Tower stretches levels into sprawling score-attack playgrounds.
Celeste shares tight movement tech and a high skill ceiling, but trades chaos for precision. Celeste asks you to nail exact inputs; Pizza Tower rewards you for flinging Peppino at full tilt and seeing what breaks.
Sonic Mania matches the momentum obsession. The difference: Sonic wants flow, Pizza Tower wants controlled panic — especially once the timer flips and you scramble backwards through a collapsing map.
Slapping rats to save your score multiplier
- Ignoring the combo counter. Letting it drop resets your score multiplier. Even a quick slap on a passing rat keeps the chain alive.
- Treating the escape like a victory lap. The return run is tighter than the first pass. Routes you breezed through now have closed doors and fresh hazards — stay alert.
- Skipping Gustavo sections. Some players rush past them. Gustavo handles differently, and practising his moveset early stops you fumbling when the game forces a switch later.
- Fighting every enemy. Floors are big. Sometimes the faster play is to grab, throw, and keep moving rather than clearing rooms.
