wavesfactory trackspacer mac torrent: app overview

The internal 32-band EQ is the engine. It reads a sidechain signal and cuts those exact frequencies from the track you insert it on. The result: a vocal sits in a dense synth pad without touching a fader.

Bass and kick sidechain clears the low end

  • Insert on a bass track, sidechained from the kick. Low-end clears up fast.
  • Place on a rhythm guitar bus, fed from the lead vocal. Mids duck and recover without the pumping of a compressor.
  • Drop it on a reverb return. Feed it the dry vocal so the tail ducks only while the singer is active.
  • Use on a full mix bus, sidechained from a voiceover. Dialogue pushes the bed down transparently.

Inverse spectrum EQ that follows the sidechain

Trackspacer applies automatic multiband equalization based on another channel. It is not a dynamic EQ with a fixed curve. The curve is the inverse of the sidechain signal's spectrum, updated in real time. Set the attack and release, decide how many bands react, and the plugin does the rest.

Too many bands at fast attack turns audio to mush

  • Too many bands, too fast. Crank the band count to 32 with a 2 ms attack and the audio turns to mush. Start with 8–12 bands and medium timing.
  • Sidechain level mismatched. The plugin reads what it receives. A weak or clipped sidechain feed gives you a useless curve. Gain-stage the sidechain source first.
  • Applying it instead of balancing faders. Trackspacer fixes masking, not a bad static mix. If the vocal is simply too quiet, turn it up before reaching for the plugin.
  • Ignoring the low-cut and high-cut on the detector. Leaving the full spectrum active often ducks sub information the bass needs. Roll off the detector below 80 Hz and above 8 kHz as a first move.
  • Stacking instances without checking phase. Three Trackspacers on one bus, each fed from different sources, can smear transients. Check bypass regularly.

Faster attack for percussion, slower release for pads

  • Attack and release defaults. The stock 10 ms attack works for most material, but faster percussion wants 3–5 ms. Slow release below 50 ms on pads avoids audible fluttering.
  • Amount knob, not the fader. Keep the wet/dry at 100 % and use Amount to control depth. It scales the EQ curve proportionally and sounds more natural.
  • Mid/side mode. Switch to M/S when a centre vocal fights a wide synth. Duck only the mid channel and the stereo image stays intact.
  • Detector filter pair. Set the high-cut to 6 kHz on a bass-guitar sidechain. The kick still clears the subs, but the bass keeps its pick attack.
  • Band count per source. Kick–bass separation rarely needs more than 16 bands. A full mix bus sidechained from a voiceover might use all 32.
