Up to 4 switchable graphs per preset
A preset can contain 12 graphs. Up to 4 run simultaneously, switchable by MIDI notes or automation. The engine is written in C++ to keep CPU load low, with sample-accurate sync and LFO rate control in hertz.
Still processing audio and sending MIDI out
No feature changes. The plug-in continues as before: it processes incoming audio and can generate a MIDI message stream for controlling other instruments.
How the MIDI CC side works
It sends MIDI CC to software synthesizers, effects, or external hardware that responds to MIDI CC. You shape an LFO graph and map it directly to CC messages.
Requirements
Performance notes under load
In daily use the C++ core does what it should. CPU meters barely twitch with a single graph active, even at audio-rate modulation speeds. Stacking four graphs and sending MIDI CC to three external instruments stays snappy on Apple Silicon — the ARM build loads without a Rosetta fallback.
Stability is uneventful. No random parameter jumps, no GUI freeze when swapping presets mid-playback. The plug-in recovers cleanly after a host transport reset. Memory footprint sits low; you forget it is open.
Smoothing at 12–20 ms stops stepped curves clicking
- Smoothing — default is off. Turn it to about 12–20 ms for most filter and volume work. Raw stepped curves click less.
- Swing — sits at zero out of the box. Dial it to 5–10% for anything groove-based. Instant push-pull on a sidechain pump.
- MIDI CC output channel — defaults to channel 1. Set it to match the target synth before you build a single graph. Saves re-routing later.
- Graph count — start with two graphs visible, not four. Less visual clutter while you dial in a first shape.
- Rate display — switch from Hz to BPM sync if you work to a grid. The Hertz readout is precise, but BPM with swing feels more musical for tremolo and pan.
A mix engineer's quick fix
Vocal bus feels static. Kick and bass lock fine, but the verse needs movement. Open LFOTool on the vocal group, pick the "1/4 note dip" preset, switch rate to BPM sync, add 8% swing. Graph one does a soft volume duck; graph two nudges a high-shelf cut at the same rhythm. Four bars in, the vocal breathes. MIDI out feeds a slap delay plug-in set to duck on CC 11 — delay throws only between phrases. No automation lanes drawn, no sidechain routing to the kick. One instance, twelve minutes, mix opens up.
Search for lfotool free or lfo tool mac if you want to try the shape editor without committing to a full session rebuild. Some users look for an lfo tool torrent to test on an offline machine, while others grab a lfo tool mac torrent when a project deadline sits too close. A lfo tool crack can bypass the 15-minute demo limit, though the uncracked plug-in behaves identically under light graph loads.
macOS 10.11 or later, plus a VST or AudioUnit-compatible host. The plug-in is part of the Xfer Records line.
