GoPanel 2 is a Mac application that puts Linux web server management on your desktop without a browser.
Connect to servers
Add an unlimited number of Linux servers and manage them side by side. It supports CentOS 6.x and newer, Debian 7 and newer, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x and newer, plus Amazon Linux 2016.03/09 and 2017.03/09.
Schedule backups
Set up backup routines for files or databases and attach them to a schedule. No terminal required to keep data safe.
Monitor and block
GoPanel 2 alongside other Mac server tools
GoPanel 2 sits in a narrow niche: desktop apps that manage remote Linux servers over SSH. Two other names come up often in the same conversation.
Termius is a general SSH client with a polished Mac interface. It handles any SSH host, not just web servers. GoPanel 2 is more focused: Apache, PHP, MySQL, FTP, domains and mail are all reachable from one panel, which Termius leaves to the command line.
ServerPilot is a cloud service, not a Mac app. You manage it from a browser after connecting a server. GoPanel 2 keeps everything local and direct over SSH. You do not need an account on a third-party platform, and you can manage unlimited servers without routing through another dashboard.
A plain terminal app like iTerm 2 gives you full control if you already know every command. GoPanel 2 trades some of that flexibility for structure: logs, IP blocking, scheduled tasks and config rollback are already laid out.
Mac-native server hub for VPS and freelancers
- Mac users who run their own VPS or dedicated servers and want a native app instead of a browser tab.
- Freelancers who look after several client servers and need a single place to switch between them.
- People moving from shared hosting to an unmanaged Linux box. GoPanel 2 covers the basics before you learn the command line.
Skips Windows and terminal die-hards
- Anyone managing Windows servers. It only handles Linux over SSH.
- Terminal purists who already have custom scripts and prefer to work in a shell full-time.
- Teams that rely on a central, browser-based control panel with multiple user accounts.
View server logs directly and block IPs when you spot trouble. Digital Ocean droplets and Amazon instances are both supported.
- macOS 10.10 or later
- Intel and Apple Silicon Macs
