You shoot a set of RAW frames on a Sony Alpha, copy them to your Mac, and need clean edits before the client sees them. Photomator handles the whole pass — from object removal to colour grading — on one machine.
Check it runs on your Mac
Photomator 3.4.15 needs macOS Ventura or newer and runs on both Intel and Apple Silicon. If you also use photomator on iPad, edits stay consistent across devices.
Remove objects and fix geometry
Clone and repair tools clear unwanted objects from a frame. Crop, straighten, and perspective tools sort out horizons and converging verticals.
Batch edit and copy adjustments
Apply colour adjustments across a full RAW shoot, then copy and paste edits between individual photos. Upscaling and High Resolution mode RAW support cover the rest.
A retoucher's morning, fixed in three steps
A product photographer shoots 40 product angles under mixed studio light. One softbox leaves a magenta cast on the left third of every frame. Instead of correcting each image, they open the first RAW in Photomator, dial in white balance and a slight curves tweak, then copy those edits. Select the remaining 39 thumbnails, paste. The batch runs while they grab coffee. After import, the repair tool removes a stray cable from two wide shots. Done before the client's Slack message arrives.
Edits not showing in the Photos app
Three things trip up new users.
- Edits not showing in Photos app. Photomator syncs through the Photos library. If you edit a file outside the library — say, from a Finder folder — those changes won't appear in Photos. Workaround: import into Photos first, then edit.
- Clone tool feels laggy on large RAWs. The repair preview renders on the GPU, and a 100 MP file can stutter on an Intel Mac with limited VRAM. Switch the preview quality to Faster in the view menu. On Apple Silicon, the lag rarely appears.
- Smart Deband leaves flat patches. If the debanding strength is too high, smooth gradients turn plasticky. Back it off to 30–40% for most skies. Reserve 70% and above for severe 8-bit JPEG banding only.
Another common moment: someone finds a photomator torrent or searches for a photomator crack mac link, installs an old build, then wonders why High Resolution mode Panasonic files won't open. Version 3.4.15 added that camera support. An outdated build simply cannot decode those RAWs.
Sony compressed RAW files open without a converter
Version 3.4.15 is a camera-compatibility update with underlying fixes. For daily editing, three changes matter.
- New Sony compressed RAW support. ILCE-7M5 files now open without a separate converter. Shoot compressed, drag in, start editing.
- Nikon High Efficiency RAW support. Z5II and Z50II shooters get full access to HE and HE Star formats. Smaller file sizes, same bit depth, no extra step.
- Panasonic High Resolution mode. LUMIX DC-S1RM2 multi-shot RAWs — the ones that merge eight frames in-camera — now import directly. No more external tethering tools to decode the composite.
Under the hood, the team also tightened batch performance. Copying edits across 200 RAWs feels snappier on M3 and M4 machines compared to late-2024 builds. That matters when a wedding photographer dumps a full card on Monday morning and needs a consistent grade by lunch.
- Added support for compressed RAW images from Sony Alpha ILCE-7M5, FUJIFILM GFX 100S II, and FUJIFILM GFX 100RF.
- Added support for High Efficiency and High Efficiency Star RAW images from Nikon Z5II and Nikon Z50II.
- Added support for Panasonic LUMIX DC-S1RM2 RAW images captured in High Resolution mode.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements.
- macOS 13 or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel 64-bit
